Fannie Josephine Love was the third child born to the late John and Hattie Tutt on February 13, 1922 in Viewtown Rappahannock, VA. She departed this life as an angel on Tuesday afternoon, December 24, 2019, to join her husband Percy E. Love of seventy-two years, grandson, Sean A. Wright, and family members who transitioned before her.
Fannie’s parents moved the family to Culpeper, VA shortly after her birth. She joined Antioch Baptist Church in Culpeper, VA at a young age.
She received her primary education in the Culpeper County School System and graduated in 1941.
After graduation Fannie moved to Washington, D.C. with her cousin Martha Fulton to seek employment. She was gainfully employed by the Treasury, Bureau of Engraving and Printing (Stock Exchanger) from November 1942 until February 1977, after thirty-five years of service. She enjoyed retirement for forty-one plus years.
Fannie joined Florida Avenue Baptist Church in 1946, when she moved to Washington, D.C. She was a member of the Senior Choir 1, Home Going Choir and the Women's Ministry.
During the early Culpeper years Fannie and Percy had known each other from childhood. After his military time of five years, he moved to Washington, DC to seek employment with the U. S. Capitol. They married in 1946 and remained happily married for seventy-two years until he passed in December 2018. From this union two children were created Patricia Ann and Antoinette Maria. After her grandchildren were born, she was known to everyone as “Nana”. Being a grandmother brought joy to her life!
Fannie was a loving and giving person… “Down to Earth”. She loved life! She loved to dress; enjoyed traveling with family and friends; being with her Social Club; her lady friends; playing cards; going to the Casinos and watching the Redskins football games.
Fannie leaves to cherish her memory two daughters Patricia Ann Love and Antoinette Maria Norwood (Ronnie); two grandsons Darrin K. Wright (Maylu), Marcus T. Wright (Koress); two great grandsons Sean A. Wright and Darrius K. Wright; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
