Fasilia Nelson Moise was born on November 25th 1950 in Petit Trou de Nippes, Haiti to Mrs. Ermilia Jacques and Mr. Fasilhomme Nelson. At an early age, she left Petit Trou de Nippes to go to Port-au-Prince the Capital for her education. While in Port-au-Prince, she accepted Christ as her personal savior and was a faithful member of Eglise Baptiste de Mont Joli located at Rue Martin Bois Patate, Haiti.
She participated in all the activities of the church and was passionate about the choir “Chorale de la foi” singing with the altos. Her faithfulness to the Lord paid off! The Lord opened the door for her to immigrate to the United States on the 9th of October in 1983 and had been living a peaceful and respectable life in the Nation’s capital of Washington DC.
On August 24th 1984, Fasilia married her sweetheart Joseph Philippe Moise who joined her in Washington DC. The Lord blessed their marriage and rewarded them with their only child Wendy Moise. Fasilia was a faithful member of First Evangelical Church where she was one of the founding members of “Chorale de la Foi” under the leadership of her cousin the late Professor Villard Anglade.
She retired from Marriott Hotel Company where she worked for twenty seven years. She was loved, adored, and most importantly of all respected by her coworkers. She had a lot of friends and family members who thought very highly of her and described her as a sweet and caring person.
After a long battle with an illness, The Lord decided to call her home. She departed this world on July 14, 2021 with her husband, daughter and godson Jordan Yaceinthe by her side. She is survived by her devoted husband Joseph Philippe Moise, her only daughter Wendy Moise, her grandson Tirrell Steven Knott Jr and a multitude of friends.
We are sad to see her go, but with tears in our eyes we rejoice because we know that she has gone to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We look forward to seeing her again in the Kingdom of Heaven.
