

Frederick T. Lewis son of the late Frederick and Ruth (Waters) Lewis was born on January 1, 1936 in Washington, DC. Fred transitioned from this life to his eternal resting place on June 04, 2020 at the Fort Washington Hospital.
A native Washingtonian he attended our Lady of Perpetual Help school and graduated from the public schools in Washington, DC. He served in the US Air Force for four years. Afterwards he joined the DC Fire Department retiring in December 1986.
Fred was a faithful member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church., where he attended regularly and enjoyed the services and fellowship. He was a gentle and delightful person and never met a stranger.
Fred was an avid baseball player and enjoyed playing with his co-workers.
Later he joined the Knights of St. John & Ladies Auxiliary of Washington becoming a most committed bowler. He was also a true Washington Redskin and National baseball fan.
Fred is survived by his devoted wife Dallas Lewis of the home. Three daughters, Margaret (Kent), Victoria (Phil), and Valerie (Tim) and a son Mark. Four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. One brother John Waters and a sister Lena Kellogg, a sister-in-law Barbara Faulk ,two brother-in-laws Warren and Matthew Knight.. Fred's Godson Wayne Johnson, his bowling supporter Ronald Duell, caregivers Ann Frazier and Linda White, host of loving family members and friends.
Fred was predeceased by his sister Jessie Harley.
