Gail was educated in the DC Public School System, where she attended McKinley Technical High School. After high school, Gail started her family with the birth of her two beloved sons, Michael and Troy. She started her career working for several printing companies and finished her time of service with the Government Printing Office as a bookbinder, retiring with 30 years of service.
Gail was kind and giving. Her kindness was most evident in the years she spent tending to her mother’s needs, offering daily love and care throughout her mother’s 10 year illness.
Being creative and nurturing by nature, Gail enjoyed cooking, styling and accessorizing dolls and making floral arrangements. She enjoyed traveling and took every opportunity to cruise where possible.
In the early 2000’s, she along with her son, Michael joined the Metropolitan Wesley AME church (her extended family). She participated in Senior Bible Study, helped in the children’s ministry, shared her culinary passion and was welcomed into W.H.O.M.S. (Women’s Home and Overseas Ministry Society).
Gail was predeceased by her son, Troy; siblings, James Curtis, John and Ronald Lynch, Thelma Payne and Gloria Lynch.
She leaves to cherish her memory, son, Michael Lynch, grandchildren Antoine (Eshe) Ledbetter, Marcus Ledbetter and
Stanley Spencer, 3 great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
While we miss Gail, we are comforted knowing she “fought the good fight and pressed toward the mark of the high calling of Christ Jesus”. We rest in the knowledge Gail is healed and at peace.
