In the early 1950s Georgia moved to the Washington,DC, area, married James S. Pinkney, raised her two children, Larry and Junette, and taught elementary school. She always had a desire to learn about God from the Bible. In the mid-1950s, Georgia began studying the Bible with Jehovah's Witnesses. As a result of her Bible study, she dedicated her life to Jehovah. Georgia symbolized her dedication by water baptism at the 14th and Hamilton Street NW Kingdom Hall baptismal pool on March 31,1956. She married Ralph Hammonds on January 27, 1973. They served Jehovah God together for nearly 29 years, until he passed away on October 25, 2001. Georgia was known as “a woman of faith” in her community.
Georgia is survived by her son, Larry J. Pinkney (Karoline) and daughter, Junette A. Pinkney, close cousins as well as many close spiritual friends. Per Georgia's personal wishes there will be no funeral service. The family welcomes memories you wish to share with them.
