

Glenda Gorham Hall was born in Farmville, North Carolina, to the late Glaster and Elizabeth Moore Gorham. She was one of nine children and received her early education in the Pitt County Public Schools. As a young adult, she moved to Washington, D.C., where she married Calvin Lane. From this union, five children n were born. In 1977, she married Curlee Hall Jr, and together they welcomed two children.
Glenda continued her education at Armstrong Vocational School and Federal City College. She held several government positions throughout her career and retired in 2003 as a Dietitian with the D.C. Government.
Glenda accepted Christ at a young age and was a devoted member of Hughes United Methodist Church. She was a passionate community advocate for Ward 5, dedicating many years to serving her community and supporting initiatives that uplifted young, incarcerated men. Her commitment to service extended into her retirement, where she remained active in outreach and proudly participated in the Order of the Eastern Star.
Those who knew Glenda remembered her not only for her service but for her personality. She was a tactful yet direct woman who spoke the truth with clarity and grace. She loved to laugh, loved to joke, and brought a sense of humor that could lighten any room. Her warmth and honesty made her a trusted voice to many.
Family was at the center of Glenda’s life. She adored her grandchildren and took great joy in attending their school activities and milestones until her health began to decline in 2020. She was preceded in death by her husband, Curlee Hall.
Glenda leaves to cherish her seven children: Anita Lane, Alvin Lane, Kimberly Lane, Andre Lane, Audra Reena Morehead, Mumina Abdul Lateef Hall (Stephanie), and Raven Hall.
Her beloved grandchildren: Jason Cruz, Glenda Morehead, Andrew Morehead, Andrea Gilliam, Andreunna Nichols, Monet Gilliam, Teka Nichols, Ijeablum Ibezue ,Breyana Walker, Jalynn Lane, Curlee Walker, Melanie Wynn, Raphael Hall, Andre Lane Jr, Aricka Peatross, Andrianna Lovelace, Ayanna Lovelace, and Derrick Peatross Jr. God daughter Jeanette Hider, Ameka Walker-Briscoe.
She is also survived by three great‑grandchildren; her siblings Martha Dildy of Farmville, NC, Glasco Gorham of Hyattsville Md, Deloris Davis (Fred) of Greenville, NC, Anthony Gorham (Jana) of Wilson, NC, Ricky Gorham of Farmville, NC, Stanley Gorham (Gloria) of Greenville, NC, Yvonne G. Garris (Duane) of Ayden, NC , Clarence Moore and Gwen Ellis of Farmville, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her oldest sister Phyllis Gorham Davis.
Glenda’s legacy of service, faith, humor, and love will continue to live on through all who were blessed to know her.
