

Glenetta was educated in the District of Columbia Public Schools. In the workforce, she worked in housekeeping for over 14 years in the private sector. Glenetta had a passion for taking care of children. Early in life she made a commitment to God and gave her life to Christ. She prayed often and listened to gospel music regularly.
Going to Bay Bridge Beach and Sandy Point, on early Sunday mornings with family for all day cookouts and fun in the sun was always memorable with Glenetta.
The bond and connection between Glenetta and her cousin Charlene were indestructible.
Glenetta loved her family and friends. In November 2018, Glenetta helped with the raising of her cousin De’Vonta, whom she loved. He was her pride and joy. She made sure he participated in all the community activities especially when he started school and playing baseball. Although Glenetta did not have any biological children, she was a natural caretaker.
Glenetta loved and lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed taking walks, watching various television shows like RuPaul’s Drag Race, the Amazing Race and Love & Hip Hop of Atlanta. She loved watching The Temptations and Color Purple. Glenetta love spending time with her family, singing karaoke, dancing and laughing. She enjoyed being a sous-chef, especially during the holidays. She was our official Grill Master at all cookouts. Glenetta was genuine and danced to her own tune. She was not afraid to tell you what she liked and disliked. She lived life the way she wanted stressed free; she was never easily bothered by the stressors of the world.
On March 23, 2024, Glenetta transitioned to her eternal celestial home.
Glenetta leaves to cherish her memory, mother, Sandra A. Rush, three sisters Gloria Huskey, Donna Ogunkoya, and Sharmanita Rush; Four nieces, Crystal Gaskins (Johnathan), Charle’ A. Wilkins, Charmeca G. Wilkins, Samaria KI Rush, two, nephews, Alvin E. Wilkins and Samuel E. Rush; two great niece, Aniyah Gaskins and Nyala Nyange, two great nephew, Isiah Wilkins and Nyzir Rilley, one great great niece, Lotus M. Wilkins; cousin Charlene Rush, special nephew De’Vonta and a host of cousins, relatives, and friends. Glenetta is preceded in death by her father Alvin Wilkins, step-father, Eugene Rush and sister, Loretta Wilkins.
Glenetta's absence will be deeply felt.
