Harmon spent his childhood in Washington DC where he graduated from Calvin Coolidge High School. He later followed his father, uncles and aunts legacy and completed his college education at Johnson C Smith University in Charlotte North Carolina. At JCSU Harmon was a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity. Although he was a math wiz, he spent most of his career in the catering industry where he used his best skill making people laugh and ensuring they had a great time. His favorite past times included playing the drums and tennis at any court he could find a challenger.
Growing up, several memorable summers were spent with his paternal grandparents, Johnsie Marie Kelly Goins, and Eric Curtis Goins, along with his sister Maria in a town called Carthage, North Carolina. Harmon also visited the home of his maternal grandparents in a place called Society Hill, his grandmother, Ellen Dickinson Bostic was from a family of twelve, as well as his grandfather, Robinson Crusoe Bostic, Sr., who was also from a family of twelve in Goldsboro, North Carolina.
Harmon spent much of his adult life at the beautiful Somerset House on 16th and S Street NW where a host of his relatives either lived or spent a lot of time and created many fond memories.
Harmon is survived by his niece Tessa Edison (father Reggie), great nephew Kristopher Tynes Jr., first cousins Stephanie Bostic (daughter Charly Simpson), Stephen Bostic and a host of other relatives and friends.
