Prelate Ishola Mosunlade's life was a testament to a life well-lived, characterized by profound grace, love, favor, and mercy.
Birth and Family:
Prelate Ishola Mosunlade was born on April 4, 1950, in Ondo Town, Ondo State, Nigeria, to the late Gilbert Mosunlade and Alice Ajikanle Mosunlade. He belonged to the Jimekun ruling family as a crowned prince and was the youngest of four siblings. He grew up with his older brother, Alhaji Rasheed Mimiko, and two older sisters, Mrs. Sidikat Oloyede and Mrs. Badeji Akinbinu, all of whom are natives of Ondo Town.

He was known as a people's person, a mediator, a natural leader, a father figure to many, incredibly humorous, and deeply caring.
Prelate Ishola Mosunlade had a remarkable ability to bring joy to those around him. He was a popular community man and had various nicknames such as "Ishow-Pepe," "Balogun dododawa," "Ajibike," "Baba Prelate," and "Big Boss," which reflected his vibrant personality. He had a unique talent for connecting with people, with his infectious smile and quick wit brightening any room and turning moments into ones filled with laughter. The bond he had with all his friends was truly meaningful, they called him "Oreloronse," meaning friends of friends. His lively spirit made him a beloved figure among his family, friends, and community.
This vibrant energy earned him recognition from the late King Osemawe of Ondo Kingdom, Oba Adesanoye Adedisewo Ibidapo (Osungbedelola II). In honor of his jovial spirit and deep connection with the community, he was named Chief Saawae of Washington, D.C., serving as the voice for the youth. His ability to connect with people from all walks of life made him one of the most popular figures of his time. His presence was always a source of cheer, creating an atmosphere of happiness that touched everyone in his company.
He had a heart of giving, always extending a helping hand without expecting anything in return. His dedication to uplifting those around him was evident in all that he undertook. Whether through his spiritual guidance or personal connections, he inspired those around him with his devotion and selflessness. His presence commanded respect and admiration, not forcefully but through the genuine care he showed to others. He motivated and inspired those around him and embodied the qualities of a true leader.

Early Life
He attended St. Elizabeth Primary School and later Ondo High School (new name: Ondo Boys High School), where he developed a strong foundation in education and discipline. During his school years, he demonstrated remarkable discipline and dedication, excelling both academically and athletically. His passion for sports was evident in his outstanding performance across all disciplines. Prelate Mosunlade was not only a skilled soccer player; he also participated in various track and field positions, consistently proving himself as a top competitor.
He began his professional journey as an art teacher at St. Monica Secondary School, where he inspired many students with his love for artistic expression. He later taught art at Independent Grammar School, where he met his beautiful wife, Waleola Mousnlade.
He gained significant recognition for his artwork over time. As his popularity grew in Ondo, he received invitations to participate in prestigious art shows. He was regarded as one of the finest artists to emerge from Ondo Town. His influence extended beyond the classroom. Prelate Ishola Mosunlade was not only an educator but also a mentor, whose impact will be remembered for years to come.
