Dear Hopkins Family,

I regret not having sent this message earlier. I am sorry. I knew John as a fellow attorney and as a zealous advocate for his clients. He also made me laugh. John appeared before me on many occasions and even when things got rough he was always a polite, cheerful and welcome presence in the courtroom. I still think of him and his infectious smile often. The man was a credit to the legal profession and a boon to our community. He is missed.
