I was deeply saddened to hear about Joe's passing. My deepest condolences go out to Joe's family and friends. Big Joe and I were buddies back in high school (South Lakes). He had the biggest heart and such an overall warm personality.  He looked out for all of us. He will be greatly missed. 💙

I met Joe through my partner, Carlos, so I obviously didn’t know him as well as many of you did, but he was always so kind and warm to me on the few occasions we met. I heard Joe and Carlos talking and laughing on the phone many times over the years as I went about my daily activities, and heard so many stories about the times (both good and difficult) that they spent together as friends from their younger years through adulthood. Whenever Carlos picked up the phone and I heard Joe’s voice on the other end, I always felt so thankful that Carlos had such an amazing friend in his life and in his corner.

I know Joe will be missed terribly by so many. I feel fortunate to have known him, heartbroken for Carlos and for all of Joe’s other friends and family, and so shocked and sad that he is gone. 💔

My deepest sympathies to Joe's family and friends. I was so heartbroken to hear of his passing. We went to South Lakes together, and Joe was a genuinely kind and friendly person with the best sense of humor. His warm personality brought brightness and fun to our friend group. I know everyone from back in the tunnel crew days has fond memories of Joe being his witty, thoughtful self. Crazy how quickly that time passes. Even though it's been many years since those days, I still have a lot of love for you, man. I know a lot of people do. The world won't be the same without you. This is the smile of a man who was truly happy. Remembering this day when we took out maternity photos for Alana. You were so happy to be a daddy. You loved me in a way I can’t even put into words. I called you my teddy bear for a reason. I love you forever Joe and I will make sure Alana knows how loving and how much her daddy loved her. She is your twin in every way. We love you o luv and we miss you more than anything. Until I see you again I love you baby. Forever in my heart.

I had the privilege of meeting Joe on my first trip to America in 2014. We only met briefly but he was so friendly and warm, the kind of person who made you want to be around them.

Five years later, I had the pleasure of spending a few days with him in Indianapolis. There I got to see more of his brilliant sense of humour and down to Earth attitude. He was one of the funniest people I ever got to meet and fortunately for me, I was still able to talk to him through group chats on social media, where he continued to be incredibly witty.

I wish that I'd had the opportunity to meet up with him again and laugh until my face hurt one more time. He was as intelligent as he was humourous and the world is poorer without him.

Joe was a friend to my son Carlos since highschool days in Reston VA, and a guest in our home many times. He was a sweet young man, and a real friend to my son. I am so very sad to hear of his passing. Dear God, please bless Joe. And please dear God be with his Mother and family at this sad time. Please take care everyone.

A friendship that unexpectedly started almost 16 years ago. You were the Big Brother I always needed. I love you and I wish I would’ve told you that more but hopefully you knew.  Alana will never go a day without knowing the amazing person you were. You can relax now Niesha and I will pick up where you left off

Best Friend…I never imagined I would be writing this for you, but here goes…you were the first person I met after Jaysson and I became serious. You welcomed me with open arms.. Initially I was just the girlfriend of your best friend but as time passed, you became my friend and an integral part of our family. You were the family we chose and not being able to see or talk to you is gut wrenching. I’m honored to have been in your presence and to have been able to share so many memories with you- from the wedding to teaching me about dogs to learning you were going to be a father. I learned so much from you. Jaysson and I love you so dearly and will miss you everyday. I promise you will never be forgotten as long as we can help it. I promise to make sure Alana knew how much you adored her. Get some rest big brother.. we’ll take it from here.  My deepest condolences and prayers to Mrs. Monica and the rest of the family.
