Katie Mae Jackson was born on October 22, 1941 to the late Eddie Wilson and Minnie Nero in Belzoni, Mississippi. Katie attended River Oak school in Silver City, Mississippi. Katie gave her life to Christ at an early age. Due to her passion to care for others she moved to Chicago to further her education in healthcare. She worked for the Veterans Administration Hospital System where she retired after thirty years of service. After retiring she moved to Maryland.

On May 5, 2020 God welcomed Katie to her eternal home. She leaves to cherish her memories a loving and devoted family: (3) sons, Frankie Lee Hopkins of Battle Creek, Michigan, Gene Autry Jackson Jr. of Washington DC, Reginal Donnell Jackson of Baltimore Maryland. (4) daughters, Sylvia Levette Johnson of Oxon Hill, Maryland, Margaret Brenette Hayes of Belzoni, Mississippi, Minnie Yvonne Harper of Waldorf, Maryland, Cynthia Kaye Jackson of Waldorf, Maryland. (12) grandchildren, (25+) great grandchildren, (1) great-great grandchild. (3) siblings, Georgia, Gale, and Eddie. (1) first cousin, Gilbert C. Washington, and a host of friends.

Our mother loved to sing and now she is singing with the heavenly choir.
