

KIMBERLY MONIQUE KING was born to James Honoré King and Geraldine Hudley King on April 25, 1979, in Washington, D.C. She peacefully departed this life much too soon on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at INOVA Fairfax Hospital surrounded by family and friends.
Affectionately known as “Kim,” she was educated in the Prince George’s County, Maryland Public School System and graduated from Oxon Hill Senior High School in 1997 where she was voted Class President all four years earning her the title “Class President for Life.” During her time at Oxon Hill High School, she developed a lifelong circle of friends known as “The Aces.” The group consisted of Kim, Alexis Pope Clerkly, Jayme Coleman, Bianca Cooper, and Sonora Jackson.
Kim continued her education at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical (A&M) University, Tallahassee, Florida where she graduated in 2000 with Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. In 2010, she graduated from the University of Maryland Global Campus with a Master of Science in Management (Marketing).
Kim’s professional career began at the United States Post Office, where she worked for 10 years. Soon after leaving the Post Office, she moved to Northern California where she worked tirelessly as advocate for children and underserved populations. In 2015, Kim returned home to the Washington metropolitan area where she worked as a Manager for American Airlines allowing her to indulge her passion for travel, explore the world and connect to people around the world.
Kim attended Springfield Baptist Church, Washington, D.C. where she sang on the Angel’s Choir. Kim accepted Christ at the age of nine while attending Springfield Baptist. In 1995, Kim joined Ebenezer AME Church, Fort Washington, Maryland.
Kim was a friendly outgoing person. Her warm spirit, genuine concern for others and infectious smile made her a lovable and likeable person. Kim enjoyed traveling. Her adventures took her to many exciting places such as China, Egypt, Thailand, Bali, Croatia Greece, Australia, Malysia, New Zealand, the Caribbean, and Central/South America.
Kim was preceded in death by her father, James H. King in September 2021; maternal grandparents, Cornelius Hudley and Margaret Black Hudley; and paternal grandparents, John King and Ann Moorehead King.
Kim leaves to cherish her memory, her mother Geraldine Hudley King; loving uncle Paul W. King (Rosilyn); loving aunt Yvonne Hudley Wilson (Richard); loving cousins Yvette Wright, Donald Hudley, Jr. (Deneer), Nikole Smith, Richelle Harvey, Paul King (Bridget), and Lawrence King; Godparents Jeremiah and Carolyn Shell; very special friends Ann Rodrigues, Tina Hall and Faith Bynoe, and a host of cousins, relatives, and friends.
