LaMont DeWalt Crosby Sr.

LaMont DeWalt Crosby Sr. lived a life defined by honor, service, and devotion to his family.

He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1962 to 1966 and was honorably discharged after his service during the Vietnam era. Throughout his military career, he earned numerous distinctions, including completion of Escape, Evasion & Survival School, the Good Conduct Medal, the Navy Commendation Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Rifle Expert Badge.

Following his military service, LaMont dedicated his career to protecting and serving others.

He served as a Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Police Officer and became an expert sharpshooter trainer for agents of the United States Marshals Service. He also served as a special deputy with the United States Marshals Service and later worked as a trusted security consultant for Fortune 500 executives and personnel.

Beyond his distinguished career, LaMont found great joy in the outdoors and traveling with his wife. He was an avid fisherman and hunter who appreciated time spent in nature. He also enjoyed his time on the water in his boat with family and friends. He loved reading, especially crime novels, with James Patterson among his favorite authors.

Above all else, he was a devoted husband, loving family man, and dedicated provider. He shared 34 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife Frankie, building a life centered on love, loyalty, and family. His strength, integrity, and unwavering commitment to those he loved will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. LaMont was a graduate of Eastern Senior High School in Washington, DC and he achieved both a master’s and bachelor’s degree in criminal justice shortly after marrying. Coupled with all these achievements, LaMont was both a black belt and personal trainer.

LaMont’s legacy of courage, service, and devotion will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched. He is survived by his beloved wife Frankie, his son LaMont Crosby Jr., his daughter Dr. Vickie Braxton, seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, his nieces and nephews, and a host of other loving family members and dear friends.

Visitation will be held at Fort Lincoln Funeral Home, 3401 BLADENSBURG RD, BRENTWOOD, MD 20722, US, on August 10, 2026, from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm. Military Honors will take place there on August 10, 2026, from 1:15 pm to 1:30 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life on August 10, 2026, from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm.
