Latrice Bonita Bryant formerly Riddick was born on February 18, 1959, Portsmouth, Virginia, daughter of Marian Washington and the late Charles Allen. Latrice peacefully entered eternal rest on Monday, November 21, 2022, at Doctors Medical Center, Lanham, MD following a lengthy illness.
Latrice, affectionately known as “Trice” by her family and friends spent her early childhood in the home of her maternal grandmother Esther Riddick in Portsmouth, VA. During her time in Portsmouth Trice was baptized and faithfully attended Mount Nebo Baptist Church where she enjoyed her time in fellowship and sang in the junior choir. Following her relocation to Maryland, Trice completed her education and graduated from Suitland High School in June 1977 where she continued her education until entering the financial sector where she had a long and successful career until her retirement from PenFed Credit Union.
In 1985 Trice met her husband, Gregory Bryant. From this meeting Trice was blessed with the priceless gift of love and marriage that spanned over 35 years.
From an early age, Trice always enjoyed dancing and music. It was this passion which led her to start the Drill Team at Suitland High School. As much as she enjoyed her music, Trice adored her beloved Washington Redskins, and she looked forward to football season each year. Trice possessed a passion and zeal for life, which she shared with all those who came into her life. In addition to enjoying music, Trice loved fashion. This love of fashion was evident to anyone who met Trice, as each outfit was always carefully assembled and accented by immaculate hair, nails, and accessories. Trice’s effervescent charm, warm senser of humor, generous heart, and bright spirit will be deeply missed.
Trice was proceeded in death by: her father Charles Allen; step-father, Roscoe Washington; and her grandparents Charlie and Esther Riddick.
The world will be a little duller without Trice’s bright smile and giving heart. Trice leaves to cherish her memory: her beloved husband Gregory Bryant of Bladensburg, MD; her mother, Marian Washington of Prince George’s County, Maryland; one brother, Darren Washington (Kim) of Prince George’s County, Maryland; four aunts, uncles; Delores Wilson, Yvonne Johnson, Warren Riddick, and Jackie (Kelvin) Carn all of Portsmouth, VA; four brothers-in-laws, Herbert Bryant, and Darren Bryant both of South Carolina, and Lyndon (Lisa) Bryant and James (Effie) Bryant both of Maryland; two sisters-in-laws, Alice (Clarence) Jones of Maryland and Jannie Bryant of South Carolina; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
