Lawrence Bernard Garrison, affectionately known as “Twin” was born on April 5, 1973, in Washington, DC, to Karen Garrison and Harold Minor. On January 8, 2021, at 7:21 pm, he answered God’s call to his eternal home. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Esther (Angel) Allen who he adored; his aunt, Delia (Mickey) Fair; uncle and role model, Walter White Jr.

Lawrence was educated in the DC Public School System. He graduated from Howard University (HU) School of Liberal Arts with a Degree in Political Science. He worked at the Department of Justice, Specialized TORTS division for 4 years. Lawrence, his mother, and brother, Lamont, were strong advocates for Sentencing Reform. He was called to testify before Congress over the Fair Sentencing Act.

He was a self-taught computer hardware specialist, which he would later incorporate into his love of automobiles and real estate. He loved installing high-tech smart home devices in his home renovations. He equally loved all kinds of high-tech gadgets for cars. Lawrence even enjoyed watching automobile shows on TV and followed automobile enthusiasts and pros online to keep up with the latest trends. It was not unusual for Lawrence to see a rare car and take a picture of it to send to his brother, Lamont.

“Twin” was an accomplished and savvy Realtor and was employed at Exit First Realty and lastly at Coldwell Banker Realty, Capitol Hill. His entrepreneurial endeavors were numerous, and he always gave a 100% of his mind, body, and soul to excellence.

Lawrence and Antoinette Riddick grew up in the Trinidad neighborhood of DC and later became sweethearts. He married the love of his life, Antoinette, on October 3, 2015, at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Washington DC. In 2018, they welcomed a beautiful daughter, Hailey, into the world.

During his childhood, his mom planned numerous family vacations, which allowed him to appreciate traveling even more. Therefore, he was especially excited when he and Antoinette traveled to Europe, went on snow excursions with family and friends, enjoyed the warmth of Florida during the winter and cruised the tropical seas.

Lawrence leaves to cherish his memories his devoted and loving wife, Antoinette; his beautiful baby daughter, Hailey; his mother, Karen Garrison; his twin brother, Lamont Garrison; and his father, Herald Minor. Lawrence never met his great-grandmother, Bessie White, nor his grandfather, Walter White, in this life, but we believe that he has now. A host of other close relatives to include loving relationships with his brother, Anthony Minor (Velvenia); numerous nieces and nephews, to include Erika, Marcel, Jordan, Mary, and Taccara; cousins, Monica Lyles, Jeffrey, Jonathon, Fredrita Williams, Gwendolyn Grey, Rosa Henry, Dr. Judith Henry, Steven Henry, Dr. Alice Redmond, Dr. Gerald Bell (Cheryl), Walter Bell, Tracy Bryant, Andia; Evans; Sisters-in-law, Debora Riddick, Lt. Renee Wilson (Randy), Earline Watson, and numerous close friends, to include William Roye (Christina) and Neil. A group of loving life-long college friends from HU, Alonda Thompson, Dona Jackson, Rochelle Jackson, Sonya Davis, and Olai to mention a few.

Lawrence will be missed by so many!

My prayers and love extend to Lawrence wife and baby girl, and to Ms. Karen (Moms) and my brother Lamont. Since we were 14 that hot August day up Tech waiting to get enrolled to start our lives we have been bonded. Both y’all helped define and refine the ensuing 4 years. From always joking to having the most heated debates us 4 (RS) were inseparable and formed a connected bond of brotherhood that has lasted until each of us is called by Our Lord! My heart never thought I would see this day so soon in our lives. Love you Brother, the world is a lot different now. May the comfort of God be with the family that have continue in missing your presence. Love Tyren

I met you and Lamont when I was a young teenager. You both were full of life and busy and carried that in to your adult life as well. My condolences to the entire family and especially to your wife, daughter, Karen and to Lamont who has lost a part of what God formed in the womb. Rest in peace Twin.

Just like my favorite Aunt Angel....the last words I said to my baby Cousin/God Son was "I Love You!" So many memories growing up. My heartfelt condolences to Lamont for all the reasons of a twin brother that no one may understand. My condolences to Karen for giving life and loving him. My condolences to Antionette for sticking by his side when he needed someone other than family. We all will do our best to remind Hailey that Lawrence is/was an amazing loving man, who wore a smile just because! I pray that you all find some comfort in this difficult time. I Love You all!! Lawrence was a kind soul. Despite meeting him in the worst of conditions, he maintained such a positive, enthusiastic attitude it was infectious. He truly loved his family and was a loyal and dear friend. He was constantly looking to learn and improve himself. He was such an inspiration to me, and the many others who knew him. The world was a better place with him in it, and he will be missed greatly. I know I miss him dearly.

You will always remain forever in my thoughts and prayers. I cannot find the words to express what you mean to me. I do not speak in past tense, because you remain with me today, tomorrow and forever.
