Leonard Draughn was born May 17, 1938 to the late William and Callie Draughn. He was one of eight children, a native Washingtonian, and attended McKinley High School in Washington, DC. Leonard served in the United States Army from 1959-1962. He spent his career working for the federal Government and retired in 2003.
Leonard enjoyed gardening and watching football, boxing, and old Western movies. He was an avid fan of the Washington Redskins/Commanders.
Leonard accepted Christ in his youth at First Baptist Church, Mt. Pleasant Washington, DC. He married Pearlie M. Platt on December 6, 1964. They enjoyed 62 years of marriage. Leonard leaves to rejoice in his memory his two daughters, Lynette McKnight and Kendra Meeks, two grandsons, Xavier and Desmond Meeks, three sisters, Barbara Ann Morgan, Irma Jean Salley, and Patricia Brown, many nieces and nephews and a host of other family, loved ones and friends.
