Louise M. Jones, or Lou as many called her, was born in Washington DC, graduated from Dunbar High school in WDC and retired from the Department of Transportation after 31 years of dedicated service in the Federal Government.
She was the eldest of four children and is survived by her only brother, James E. Harrod Jr and preceded in death by her parents, James E. Harrod Sr., Bernice Ross Harrod and twin sisters, Janice B. Harrod and Janet B. Cook.
Celebrating her life and legacy are daughters, Sharon Jones-Cody, Adrienne Wiggins (Michael), and Tracey Jones, her Grandchildren, Robert, Markeith (Tiffany), Synee (Frankie/deceased), Craig, Baylor, one nephew, one niece and a host of great grandchildren, great- great grandchildren, Godchildren, many cousins, extended family and loving friends.
Her joys in life included spending time with her family for Sunday dinners, skiing, playing a riveting game of cards, following the Commanders, and hand-dancing. She was known for being a fashionista and no pretty shoe was ever safe in her presence.
She will surely be missed. The family extends a thank you for all the condolences and prayers received. We leave you with a passage from Psalm 34:18 to rest your weary soul.
"The Lord is close to the broken hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit".
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
