Lucille I. Spencer was born April 18, 1934 to the late Raymond and Edna Kidd. Lucille was raised in Gladstone, Virginia. Her early education was received in the public schools of the county.

In 1951 Lucille was joined in marriage to Tony B. Spencer. From this union two sons and one daughter was born. Tony Spencer Sr. (husband), Tony Spencer Jr. (son), Gregory D. Spencer (son) and Demetrius Johnson (grandson) have preceded her in death.

In 1955, Lucille and her family relocated to Washington D.C. Lucille was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. As one of the oldest living relatives she tried to keep the family together by staying in touch with all of the relatives and encouraging us to reach out to one another. Lucille was the family babysitter for many of our family members during her early years, the Avon lady and a woman who enjoyed reading and doing any kind of puzzle. She loved watching game shows. Lucille was known for being soft spoken and kind.

Lucille leaves to mourn and celebrate her life her daughter Benita Spencer. One son-in-law Darrell Wesley Sr. One daughter- in-law Viola Spencer. Two half-sisters Virginia (Kenny) Wilson and Dale Duncan. Four grandchildren, Darrell Wesley Jr. Tony and Davon Spencer and Janelle Magruder-Spencer, nine great-grand-children and two great-great-grandchildren, a loving cousin Charles Spencer and a host of other relatives and friends.
