She attended Holy Name Elementary School, St. Anthony's High School, and the historic Howard University. Lynn was an excellent student. She was on the Its Academic debate team for St. Anthony's High School, in addition to a few other extracurricular clubs. She was passionate about her beliefs. She worshipped at Incarnation Church on Eastern Avenue in Northeast, Washington, DC. Lynn loved to read novels, watch movies and travel. She was a charismatic person with many friends. She was loving, kind, and reassuring when and provided equal inspiration aka size 9 when you need it.
Lynn served for forty years in the federal government; including twenty-six years in the U.S. Department of State supporting the activities of the Office of English Language Programs to promote language learning and greater international understanding. Her work took her abroad, to Africa and Europe. She was a very hard and dedicated worker. Her coworkers describe her as very kind, generous, helpful and a great friend; with a keen sense of humor and a warm smile.
Lynn is survived by her siblings: Patricia Campbell, Susan Monteiro, Toni Monteiro, James Monteiro, Jr., Mai Ly Lan, and Mai Minh Tuan; children, Zane Green, Joseph Hatcher, and Jennifer S. Hatcher; grandchildren, Aaron Genovez-Green, Zachery Genovez-Green, Emma Victoria-Sue Genovez-Green, Kayla A. Walls and Tristan P. Murphy. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and coworkers.
