Margaret Diane Williams (affectionately known as Peggy), passed away peacefully on June 15, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was born in Washington, DC on March 06, 1950, to Joseph Ward Williams III and Marcella Williams. She graduated from Northwestern High School in 1968 and then attended a trade school majoring in electronics. Peggy was the eldest of three children. Her younger siblings: Charles (Charlie) and Dorothy (Dottie). She was a loving mother to three children (Roxanne, Rhonda, and Dominic). She was a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother.
Peggy was kindhearted, humble, resilient, polite, outgoing and had a witty sense of humor. She was a social butterfly that enjoyed meeting new people. Peggy was a conversationalist and loved to chat, and boy was she good at it! Everyone that knew her knew she was a people person. She would make new friends just about anywhere, especially at the bus stop, at church, and at work with customers. She would brag about her kids to anyone that would listen. Peggy enjoyed having conversations with her children and loved to leave them numerous voicemails telling them how much she loved them, thanking them, and saying how proud of them she was. She cherished every moment and visit that she spent with her family.
Peggy was a single mom of three. Growing up they didn't have much, but what they did have, she taught them to be grateful for. She taught them virtues, manners, and showed them how to be strong and independent. She was a retired union employee. Throughout her career, she was known for her hard work, dedication, and passion for others. She instilled those character traits in her children. The best legacy she left her children was how she obediently and whole-heartedly served God without seeking any gain from it other than to serve Him. She was a devoted Catholic that attended mass and prayed the rosary.
Peggy was an avid bingo player and enjoyed playing weekly with her friends. She found pleasure in listening to music, singing and dancing. Her all-time favorite artist was none other than Elvis Presley. She was passionate about having her nails painted and wearing lipstick. She was fond of Coke slurpees, Diet Coke, swiss cheese and tacos.
Peggy was a breast cancer survivor since 1995; diagnosed with Vascular Dementia after sustaining 12 strokes in 2017; and ultimately succumbed to kidney failure. She will be greatly missed by all!
