Mark began his education at Clara Barton Elementary School in Cabin John, Maryland. His family later moved to the District of Columbia for a short period of time where he continued his elementary education until his family moved to Hyattsville, Maryland in 1968. Jeff completed his education receiving his GED through the Job Corps Training Center in the state of Kentucky.
Mark was a hard worker and held several positions throughout his life until his health began to fail him which resulted in the decision to quit the workforce. Jeff was officially declared disabled. Although disabled, Jeff still tried to work. He took a light duty job as an Uber driver until his sudden death.
Mark lived a wonderful life, everyone he came in contact with had a lot of laughs and smiles. Mark was fondly known as Jeff, Fats, Clagg, Uncle Jeff, and Candy man. He loved all sports especially golf and football. Jeff was a die hard fan of the Denver Broncos and could always be found supporting his team even when they were losing. One of the things that he enjoyed most was spending time with family and friends at his parent's house having cookouts and socializing. Jeff always offered his assistance to anyone in need, and was always true with everyone. He was instrumental in working with several community and family events to include being an integral part in helping start the Annual Chillum Hood cookout that began in September 2008 and is still a continuing tradition for the neighborhood.
