Mary Louise Bullock

Mary Louise was born in Rock Hill, South Carolina on December 17, 1933. Mary, her Mother Johnnie Mae and siblings, Sonny, Cornell, Edna, and Tina relocated to Washington DC in the early 1950’s. In her mid 20’s, Mary met and married Bracey (Stu) Bullock Jr. The couple resided in Washington, DC with son Zachary. In those early years, Stu was in the military serving the US Navy and later the US Air Force. Mary and Zachary joined Stu during his tours of duty in Florida, Japan and Germany before the family made their permanent home back in Washington, DC.

Over her lifetime, Mary or Mae, had many careers and worked at various places of employment. She completed Beauty School and worked at a salon for a time. She waitressed and worked in several downtown DC restaurants. Later, Mary was hired at the Navy Exchange in Bethesda, MD as a retail clerk, was promoted to Retail Operations Supervisor and then to Jewelry Department Manager. This was the occupation she enjoyed the best and was most proud of.

Mae will be missed dearly by her son, Zach and spouse, Cathy, and Zach’s children - Naeema, Sabria and spouse Nashir, Yasmine, Rafiq, Jamal, Zachary Jr. and Khalil. Mary (Meme) was blessed with many great grandchildren – Sabria’s children - Miles and Drew; Rafiq’s children - Shaniq, Cole, Tiberius, Kadence and Shaniya; Jamal’s children - Jaliyah, Nyah, Jayden, Jade, Jamal Jr, Jules, Jackson and Jullian; Zachary Jr.’s children - Jovel, Julia and Aspen. Mary’s extended family includes Tony, Joy, Justin, Abigail, Terri and Ernest.

Mary’s living family members also include many nieces, nephews, first and second cousins. Mary will also be missed by many friends and neighbors like Marcy, Angie and Jones, just to name a few.
