

On April 12, 1939, Mary Elizabeth Lattimore, affectionately known as “Boobie” was born to the Walthro and Mary Alice Lattimore. Following a long health battle, she passed peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at home with family.
Mary was a native of Washington, DC. She attended Dunbar Senior High School, graduating in 1957. She began her career in food service and ultimately went on to work as a Data Analyst at the U.S. Department of Labor where she had an illustrious 33-year career.
Mary was blessed with her doting son Dewayne Contee Lattimore in 1966. She was a lover of sports, particularly baseball and football. She loved her Washington Redskins (now Commanders) and Washington Nationals and watched games religiously. For a large portion of her life, she was a steadfast member and volunteer of the New Samaritan Baptist Church in Northeast Washington.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her sister and brother, Barbara Ann and Rev. Walter Eugene (Carmen). She leaves to cherish her memory Dewayne, his fiancé Tonya; grandchildren Greg and Sean, the apple of her eye great granddaughter Autumn Giselle Darlene Stewart; siblings Clarence Benjamin (Marisa) and Darryl Andre(Rose-deceased); her New Samaritan Baptist Church family and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
