Mildred I. Weathers, lived to be 90 years old. She passed away May 31st 2021 at 318 Jo Drive Upper Marlboro Maryland … A place where she could go peacefully. Mildred I. Weathers was born on October 7, 1930 in Mitchellville, Maryland. She was the youngest of eight children to the late Thomas and Helen Contee.
She attended Prince Georges Public Schools. She was employed with the Macke Company. She retired as a domestic worker, she was loved and appreciated by the families she worked for.
Mildred was united in holy matrimony to Amzie D. Weathers Sr. on December 25, 1949. With this union eight children were born. SON Amzie D. (aka Boo) (Sheila), SON D’orvay C., SON Darvay C., DAUGHTER Brenda E. Harris (Anthony), SON Jerry M., SON Kenneth X., SON Ronald, AND DAUGHTER Brettana M.
After separating from Amzie, Mildred enjoyed her life traveling with her companion King George William. They lived together until he passed. She gained her independence and moved into Emerson House apartments in 2002. She enjoyed visits from family members and close friends, playing bingo, reading books, sewing, doing puzzles, reading newspaper, watching TV like the news, wrestling, Judge Judy, Let’s Make a Deal, The Price is Right, and Pastor Osteen on Sunday mornings. Mildred was a very giving person. One of her sayings was…"If I got it you got it, If I don’t have it, you won’t get it”. Every time we called, she would say “is everything alright?" If you were not, she would help any way she could. Mildred lived a long life on this earth. We were not ready for her to go. It was too quick and unexpected. We love you and you are already missed.
Mildred Weathers is preceeded in death by sons; D’orvay C., Darvay C., Jerry M., Kenneth X. Weathers., grandson D’orvay Monroe, and brothers; John, James (aka Reds), Charles ,Leon Contee , sisters; Mary Proctor, Marion E. Reynolds, Dorothy Contee.
She leaves to cherish her memories: Sons; Amzie D. (aka Boo) and Ronald, daughters; Brenda E. and Brettana M.; eleven grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and close friends.
