She was a woman of great spirit, who received her education in the old Johnston County Training School in Smithfield, NC. She would meet and marry Norman Sanders, Jr. on March 6, 1947.
She was a faithful member of Goodwill Baptist Church and a member of the Usher Board.
She was employed at GSA for many years and retired after 35 years of service.
She was an active pillar in her community and served on the local community board. Mrs. Sanders lived in her home on 30th street for nearly 50 years.
She leaves to mourn her loss 3 children; Sonjenetta Walker of West Palm Beach, FL; Norman Sanders, lll (Deborah) of FT. Washington, MD; Harry Sanders (Cheryl) of Bowie, MD; five granddaughters, Shirell, Sheena, Peggy, Laquita and Tymia, two grandsons, LaVonte and Warren and one great granddaughter, Jiya.
