Ray Leron Chandler was born to Raymond and Mae Chandler on June 26, 1957. He departed this earthly life on Sunday, May 2, 2021. He was the fraternal twin and second child of seven children. Ray received his education in the Washington, D.C. school system and began his career in the field of home improvement.
He was employed with Home Depot for several years and later began working at Lowe's Home Improvement store where his career spanned for 20 years. Customer relations and co-workers say that Ray was consistent with smiles for everyone and worked with joy even when they knew he was feeling poorly. He was well respected and loved by his co-workers.
Ray was a devoted son, brother and uncle. One of his greatest joys was family. He took great care of his sisters even stepping in to walk each of them down the aisle to be married. He was the quiet rock we could depend on. A quiet and humble guy who had a love for gadgets and a huge Redskins fan. Ray had a generous heart, always doting on his nieces and nephews. Uncle Lee will be greatly missed.
Ray leaves to cherish his memories : his father and mother, Raymond and Mae Chandler, five sisters, Mary Terry, (Reginald B.Terry) fraternal twin Mae Tapp, Timothy Chandler (preceded by death), Brenda Chandler, Deborah Chandler and Willetta Chandler. Nephew and Nieces: Jewel Campos, (Casimer Campos), Reginald Terry, Jade Tapp and Maxx Tapp. Four great- nephews and three great-nieces, a host of other relatives and friends.
