Rhondra LaShon Harris was born on November 4, 1969 in Washington, DC., to Ronald Sr. and Johnnie M. Harris. She departed this life on March 7, 2026, after a brief illness. At the age of 56, her time with us feels way too short, but she left behind a legacy of love, dedication, and cherished memories.
She was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. One of the most special relationships in her life was the deep and unbreakable bond she shared with her mother. Living together, they were more than family, they were best friends who shared life’s everyday moments, laughter, and unconditional love.
Rhondra graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School, class of 1987. After graduation, she attended The National Institute of Cosmetology. There she was able to pursue her life passion. Professionally, she was a talented and dedicated hair stylist. She took pride in her craft and truly enjoyed making others feel confident and beautiful. For her, styling hair was more than just work, it was a passion and a way to connect with people. Many remember her not only for her skill, but for her warm presence and gentle spirit. Whether you wanted a new look, or needed help getting damaged hair growing again, Rhondra was your girl. She could make it happen.
Though she was naturally private, those closest to her knew how much she valued family and the simple joys of life. She loved spending time with her loved ones, going shopping, and enjoying a good meal out. One of her favorite places to visit was Whole Foods, where she enjoyed browsing and finding little things that brought her happiness.
She never officially joined, however Rhondra faithfully attended the online services of The First Baptist Church of Glenarden International. She believed in Jesus Christ and regularly encouraged family and friends with scripture text messages and words of encouragement.
Rhondra never married and had no children of her own, but her life was full of love. Her niece and nephew brought her great joy, and she cherished being a part of their lives. She was a woman who showed her love through quiet support, thoughtful moments, and simply being present for those she cared about.
And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes. (Revelation 21:4) She leaves to cherish her precious memory her loving and devoted mother; her brother; one niece and one nephew; aunts; uncles; cousins; clients, and a host of friends who were blessed to know her.
Though her presence will be deeply missed, the love she shared and the memories she created will remain in our hearts forever. Her gentle spirit, her dedication to her family, and the quiet way she cared for others will never be forgotten.
