Robert Louis Studevent

January 17, 1942 – January 21, 2021
Obituary of Robert Louis Studevent
IN THE CARE OF

Fort Lincoln Funeral Home & Cemetery

Robert L. Studevent (fondly known as "Skeet") was born on January 17, 1942 to the late Robert Flake and Buna Pate Studevent at Gallinger Hospital (D.C. General) in Washington, DC. He was preceded in death by all six of his siblings: Pearl, Naomi, Catherine, Calvin, Donald, and Dorothy. He gained his heavenly wings Thursday, January 21, 2021.

Robert was long-time member of the Turner Memorial AME Church and was a 33rd Degree Mason with Charles Datcher Lodge #15. Robert was educated in the DC Public School System growing up in Marshall Heights and later moved to Monroe Street. He was employed by the City of Alexandria, Virginia as a Bookmobile driver (which he loved) until they discontinued Bookmobile services. He continued library delivery services along with other duties until his retirement in 2003 after 42 years of service.

Robert had a love for traveling with his wife and others. The distance did not matter, he was ready to go whether he was driving or flying. His goal was to visit all 50 states, which he almost accomplished with the exception of Hawaii. Robert really enjoyed his many trips to Las Vegas and to Georgia. He also enjoyed his Cruise to Alaska where he went inside an igloo. Robert and Anthony spent a lot of time together running errands and helping Anthony with his lawn service. When Robert was not on the move, you could find him in his favorite spot in the swing on the front porch.

Robert loved "tinkering" with anything that needed to be fixed. His fixing techniques were usually quite unconventional, but they worked. He would help anyone with anything, especially working on cars and trucks with his nephews, even teaching his "nieces" how-to-put-on brake pads and how to drive a stick-shift car. He grew up building model cars, go-carts and had a full-scale train city even as an adult.

Robert leaves to mourn his wife, Ella, of 57 years; son Anthony; granddaughter, Ayha; several nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; great-great nieces and nephews; great-great-great nieces and nephews and a host of in-laws, cousins, and friends.

Robert will be sorely missed by the lives he touched . God knew it was time for him to rest.
