

These verses, paraphrased from the gospel of St. Matthew, Chapter 7, verses 16,17, and 20 are truly indicative of Rose E. Washington, whom God called from labor to reward on December 8, 2022. She was a devoted wife and mother, loving daughter, close family member, caring co-worker and friend.
Life began for Rose on February 28, 1938. She was born to Felda L. and Willie McKinley Thompson. She was raised in Bellevue, Pennsylvania. She lived there until she was in her 20s. She attended the local schools in Ross Township Pennsylvania, graduating from West View High School in 1956. Later she earned degrees from Prince Georges Community College and the University of Maryland, University College. Rose was civil servant. She was employed by the U.S. Government for 33 years. She retired in 1995.
Rose married Timothy W. Washington. To that union was born two sons, Timothy W. Washington, Jr. and Garry Washington.
Rose loved her life, church, sons and grandchildren. She leaves to morn, a son, Garry Washington; a sister, Felda J. Thompson; two brothers, William M. Thompson (Mildred); Earl Daniel Thompson (Donna); a god-son John Baldwin and 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, relatives, friends and colleagues.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Felda L. and Willie McKinley Thompson; husband Timothy W. Washington; son, Timothy W. Washington, Jr. and sister, Emma M. McClelland.
