Sandra K. (Murphy) Folks, age 65, of Cottage City, MD, passed away on January 27, 2025. She is preceded in death by her parents, Michael F. Murphy, Jr. and Gloria M. Murphy. She is survived by her husband Michael Folks, her son Nicholas, brother Michael Murphy married to Diane (Strashensky) Murphy, Prince Frederick, MD, nephews Jonathan Murphy married to Lindsey (Griffith) Murphy, Colorado Springs, CO and Jacob Murphy, Prince Frederick, MD and extended family and friends. Sandy worked for 30+ years at the National School Boards Association in Alexandria, VA.
After leaving National School Boards, Sandy enjoyed getting together and having lunch with her former coworkers. Sandy loved and cherished spending time with her close friend, Dorian Reif. They spent numerous holidays together and loved to go Black Friday Shopping.
A service to honor Sandy will be held at Fort Lincoln Cemetery on Wednesday, February 5th from 1-3pm. Sandy loved her animals, so in lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in her honor to your local Humane Society.
