Sharon Lee Gauzza Goodman, 67, of Berlin, MD, peacefully passed away in her home on January 27, 2022, after a valiant battle against cancer. She was in the loving arms of her husband, daughter, grandchildren, son-in-law, and cherished pets when she passed.
Born on January 7, 1955, at Prince George’s General Hospital (MD), she was the daughter of the late Patsy Ann Windsor (Perry) and Joseph Clinton Gauzza. At 8 years old, Charles L. Perry would enter her life and remain as a beloved stepfather until his passing.
She was a graduate of Bladensburg High School, Class of 1973, and became a licensed cosmetologist. Professionally Sharon would go to work for Southern Management Corporation and remain for 21 years until a workplace injury ended her career as a Property Controller with the corporation.
After her unplanned retirement Sharon and the family moved to Berlin, MD. There she enjoyed the pleasant country coastal living the area afforded and happily occupied her time as a mother, grandmother, animal lover & rescuer, beach goer (constantly in search of shells), gardener, and wonderful crafter. She was such a successful gardener and crafter that a bustling roadside produce stand was born, and her crafts were snapped up on-line. Her family, in particular her grandchildren, were her paramount joy in this world. She would incorporate them into every aspect of her life. The beach walks, shell searches, shark week episodes, gardening, and crafting she did with them brought endless joy to her and provided the kids with warm memories to cherish in her absence.
Sharon is survived and loved by her devoted husband, of 40 years Curtis Lane Goodman Sr., one daughter – Suzanne (Andy “My guy”); two sons – Michael; Curtis Jr. (who sadly passed away February 1, 2022); four grandchildren – Makenzie “Princess”, Timmy “Bubba”, Madalyn “Maddie Pie”, and Nickolas. Two brothers – Joey Gauzza and Mike Gauzza. One sister – Rose Gauzza. Other family include a multitude of many loved nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and a host of other family and friends. Four special Fenstermacher girls that were like sisters to her: Debbie, Jeanne, Betty and Peggy. Her beloved dog “Beauty” was by her side throughout her 15-year life and was at her side on Sharon’s passing. Sadly, Beauty crossed the rainbow bridge herself and joined Sharon in eternity on February 16, 2022.
A visitation for Sharon will be held Monday, February 21, 2022 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. A celebration of life service will occur Monday, February 21, 2022 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM. An interment will occur Monday, February 21, 2022 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM.
