

Sharon was born in Washington, DC to parents Robert and Hester Thompson. She graduated from McKinley Tech High School class of 1966 and went on to Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, North Carolina where she met her husband Charles. They married and had three kids.
Throughout their 58 year marriage they have lived in Virginia, Florida, Maryland, California, St. Croix and North Carolina. Sharon held various positions throughout her career including office manager and financial analyst. Sharon was extremely intelligent and loved by all.
She created an investment club for women to educate them on the stock market and financial investing. She loved all kinds of music. She liked singing, dancing and playing the piano. She was very active in church singing in the choir and acting as treasurer. She enjoyed playing all kinds of games, especially card games. She won several bid whist tournaments and even won a Cadillac on Hollywood Squares.
Sharon is the life of the party and the heart of our family. She was always so friendly, warm and welcoming which allowed her to make friends everywhere she went. She was a devoted wife, a selfless mother and an adoring grandmother.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Eddie. She is survived by her husband Charles, sister Angela Hassan of Washington, D.C. , aunt Georgia Duff of Mooresville, NC, sister-in-law Annette Cole of York, PA, children Tracy, Rocky and Lesli, grandchildren David, Brayden, Nicholas, Jett and Dash and a host of family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at Fort Lincoln Funeral Home, located at 3401 Bladensburg Road Brentwood, MD 20722, on December 6, 2025 at 1:30 pm.
