

Sheila Renee Vitto, entered rest on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at Doctor’s Hospital in the comfort of many family members. Sheila was born on January 14, 1968, in Manhattan, New York to Barbara W. Vitto and the late Thomas N. Vitto.
Sheila committed her life to Jehovah and was baptized on March 27, 1986, at Lower Harlem Kingdom Hall in New York. She was a faithful member and loved by the congregation.
Sheila graduated from Murry Bergtraum High School for Business Careers and went on to Baruch College where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Finance. After graduating from college, Sheila worked for the U.S. Department of Education as an Administrative Assistant. As she pursued her career endeavors, she became an integral member of many senior leadership teams for American Express for nearly 25 years. Most recently, she served as Senior Executive Assistant for the global team leading the company’s response to the pandemic. During a time when kindness and generosity were needed most, Sheila shined, and her impact was felt across the enterprise. Her extraordinary performance was recognized last year with the coveted Edward P. Gilligan Award for Innovation. Sheila will be remembered as a trusted confidant to many who left everyone better for the interaction. She will be missed.
Sheila loved traveling in and out of the country. Her last trip was in November when she went to Cancun with a dear friend. She has traveled to many countries in Europe, Mexico, Thailand, Jamaica, Bahamas and more. Anyone that knew Sheila, knows that her favorite place to be was with family and friends. She looked forward to family reunions, dressing fancy for gatherings and entertaining family members at her home. Her home is filled with pictures that represent so many special occasions with family, friends and coworkers. Each one showing how much she loved living life to the fullest.
Sheila was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Vitto, grandparents, Rufus and Xenobis Vitto and Sidney and Leona Winkey. Uncles; Rufus Jr., Robert Claude, Eusa, Spencer and Avery Vitto. Sidney Winkey Jr. (Betty) Robert Winkey and Rev. Thaddeus Winkey. Aunts; Angeline Vitto, and Nancy V. Williams.
Sheila leaves to cherish her loving and adored mother, Mrs. Barbara W. Vitto of Harlem, NY, and brother she adored, Marvin Winkey (Eunita) of Waldorf, MD, bonus brother Wrenwick Vitto of California, niece Ashley Winkey and nephew Nicholas Winkey of Baltimore, MD.Uncles; Weldon and Sullivan Vitto of New Iberia, LA., Charles Winkey of Harrisonburg, VA and George Winkey, (Kyellye) of Upper Marlboro, MD. Aunts: Margaret V. Thomas (Milton) of Baton Rouge, LA, Paulette and Janet Vitto of New Iberia, LA., Susie W. Brown (Gene) of South Chesterfield, VA, and Emily Winkey of Gordonsville, VA, Maria Winkey of Buckingham, VA and Denise Winkey of Baltimore, MD. Sheila has many devoted cousins who she dearly loved.
A visitation for Sheila will be held Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 12:30 PM at Fort Lincoln Funeral Home. A celebration of life will occur Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 1:30 PM. An interment-private will occur.
