Thomas E. Wedge, the oldest child of the late James, Sr. and Christabell Wedge passed though heaven’s pearly gates on Tuesday July 14, 2020. Thomas was born in Fairmount Heights, Maryland on February 16, 1932. He was 88 years old.

Thomas received his education in Prince Georges County Public Schools and went on to work for the DC Government for 37 years. As a member of the YMCA he enjoyed boxing in the ring and was given the nickname “Rock” due to his punching power. Thomas also enjoy spending time playing golf and watching football. His favorite team was the Dallas Cowboys.

In June of 1963 Thomas united in holy matrimony with Barbara Jean Drake and from this union came 2 sons, Michael, Sr. and Raymond. Thomas and Barbara shared 50 years of marriage.

Thomas was a member of Galations Baptist Church where he was a member of the ED Mass Choir and assisted with the church food bank. Thomas was a member of Fidelity Lodge #20, PHA and Fidelity Chapter #10 OES, PHA. Thomas truly enjoyed his Masonic affiliations and participated in many activities until his health began to fail.

Preceding him in death were his loving wife, Barbara, his parents James, Sr. and Christabell; two brothers; Sylvester and James, Jr.; two sisters Barbara Jean and Geraldine; five brothers-in-law Lawrence Panell, Walter Drake, Robert Drake, James Hayes and Frank Holley and two sister-in-laws, Verlene Drake and Lynell Drake.

Thomas leaves behind to cherish his memory: loving sons Michael, Sr. (Donna) of Springdale, MD, and Raymond (Pamela) of Windsor Mill, MD, two grandsons, Michael, Jr. (Nichole) of Largo, MD and Damar (Jenae) of Washington, DC; one granddaughter, Gabrielle of Windsor Mill, MD; four great- grandchildren, Danaejah, Kymir, Bria and Aubree, two brothers; Gilbert of Bowie, MD and Jesse of Springdale, MD, two sister in-laws, Ella Hayes of Lanham, MD and Annie Holley, of Upper Marlboro, MD and one brother in-law, Enoch Drake of Lanham, MD, as well as a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Friends.
