Vera Ann Taylor-Ross

Vera Ann Taylor-Ross was born on June 26, 1939 in Robersonville, North Carolina to her beloved parents, the late Ardell Taylor and Mary Harrington Taylor. God called her to his heavenly home on Monday, August 9, 2021.

Ms. Ross enjoyed being around family and friends. Her favorite pastime was cooking, watching old time Western classical TV shows, and special visits by the Delta Pi Chapter of Gamma Phi Delta Sorority, Inc. Throughout her life, she worked selflessly to help others. She was a devoted Christian, and served as an usher for over thirty years at New Samaritan Baptist Church in Washington, D.C.

Ms. Ross leaves to cherish her sweet memories, her children: Diane Ross Thomas, Glenn Ross, Mona Stevens, Patricia Stevens-Ramdass, Michelle Thigpen, Eric Ross; her sibling: Mary Elizabeth “Sis” Taylor; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; and her dearest friend and caregiver, Ms. Elizabeth Bright.

Ms. Ross joins in heaven, her children: Alexander Ross (deceased) and Lorraine Ross (deceased); and her siblings: Delama Taylor (deceased), Clinton Taylor (deceased), Shirley Mayberry (deceased), Annie Coffield (deceased), James “Fatdaddy” Taylor (deceased), Johnnie Ray Mobley (deceased), Odell Taylor (deceased), and Charlie Manning Moore (deceased).
