

Virginia Susie Johnson was born on June 17, 1926 in Winterpock (Chesterfield County), Virginia and died September 16, 2019 in Grand Prairie, Texas. She was the oldest child of James and Margret Evans. Virginia was married to Lenza A. Johnson, Sr. From this union, they were blessed with 11 children.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Easter Gladys Blacksheare, her husband, her children Margret Ellen Johnson, Octavius Johnson, Pamela Ann Johnson, Duvalle Andre Johnson, and Nathaniel Eric Johnson, and grandson Roland (Rocky) Tucker, Jr.
Virginia moved to Washington, D.C. at a very young age and attended the public schools of the city. While caring for her young children, she also was a caregiver for her ailing mother. She continued being a homemaker after moving to Baltimore, Maryland as her family continued to grow. Virginia enjoyed Western television shows and movies, stayed abreast of current events, spoke about history such as the Great Depression, and discussed political views with family. Additionally, she loved music - especially jazz music. Her favorite jazz musicians were Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, and Louis Jordan.
She was a devout Catholic and attended Saint Wenceslaus Catholic Church while living in Baltimore, Maryland.
Virginia was a homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother. Her dedication to her family was shown throughout her life. She enjoyed being around her family. Momma J, as she was affectionately called by many, will be greatly missed.
She leaves to mourn her children, Stanley Johnson (Vernessa), Denise Barber (Kenneth), Virginia Tucker (Roland Sr.), Debra Johnson, Lenza Johnson, Jr., and James Johnson (Jackie). She is also survived by her loving grandchildren; Doneisha Tucker-Greene (Lee), Lisa Samad (Musa), Tarik Barber, Khalid Johnson, Duvalle Johnson, Lenza Barber, Malik Johnson (Shonta), Valerie Johnson, Rakim Wilson (Jessica), Natalia Johnson, Bria Johnson, and Karis Johnson; 20 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson; and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members.
