Warren White Pearce Jr

Warren White Pearce, Jr passed away on April 9, 2022 at 95 years of age. Born 5/12/1926 in Detroit, MI to warren White and Marie (Hoon) Pearce and preceded in death by his wife of 70 years June (Kilby) Pearce. Survived by his two daughters Ruth Hartman (Gerry) and Linda Collinson (Ron), grandchildren, Kelly Collinson (Tim Ritchie), Budge Collinson, Alexandra Shigo, Chris Hartman, and sister Betty Albee.

Warren grew up in Hyattsville, MD where he attended The University of Maryland then received a degree in accounting and business from Strayer College. After serving the United States Air Core during WWII, his passion for cars led to a career that started with Lustine Chevrolet in Hyattsville. In 1956, he joined Albert Turner and Herndon Kilby, forming Maryland Community Developers. MCD developed communities throughout the Washington, DC suburban area including Calverton, New Carrollton, Kettering and Olney Mills. During this time, Warren served as president of Maryland Homebuilders Association. Later the group acquired the Sheraton Hotel in Lanham, MD and Bahia Mar Hotel in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Warren spent his retirement years in south Florida doing the things he loved most; investing, playing golf and spending time with family and friends.
