OBITUARY

William Henry Finch Jr. "Bra"

May 23, 1936 – August 5, 2020
Obituary of William Henry Finch Jr. "Bra"
IN THE CARE OF

Fort Lincoln Funeral Home & Cemetery

William Finch was born to the late William Henry Finch Sr. And Rosetta Evans Finch on May 23, 1936 in Henderson, NC. He entered into eternal rest at his home surrounded with love by his children and grandchildren.

William received his education in Washington. DC. William attended the National Guard and was assigned to be an MP in the 1960’s later to leave to become a truck driver for the Marriott corporation. While working for Marriott he participated in truck rodeos where he placed 2nd. He would drive the “hell out of a truck” just showing off. He was a great driver.

William met his wife Mary Finch in Henderson, NC. They later moved to Washington, DC and was joined in holy matrimony in 1958.

From this union five wonderful children were born.

William in his leisure time enjoyed being with family. Nothing stopped him from talking trash with adults and smack with the grandkids. He loved getting a cold beer, a bag of pork skins, a cold cut sandwich and just laying in front of the tv. His most exciting hobby was working on cars and driving fast !!! I guess that is why he loved going to the drag races.

William leaves a legacy of five loving children.

One son DeWayne Finch, daughter’s Madelyn Meyers husband Brian, Sharon Córdoba husband Jose, Kimberly Thompson husband Chet, and Karen Brown.

Two living siblings sister Effie Woody companion Barnes, brother Hurrie Finch wife Beverly. He was preceded in death by one brother Lloyd “LT” Finch wife Lois and one sister Loretta “Aunt Bootsie” Finch; 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren, and a vast number of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
