

Willie Jerome (“Buck”) Logan, son of the late Julius D. and Christine A. Logan, was born in the District of Columbia on October 21, 1934. Willie was called home to be with the Lord on July 17, 2025 at Autumn Lake Healthcare in Silver Spring, Maryland. He was preceded in death by his son, Jerome; daughter Sheila; brothers, Junius, James, Jarrett, and Artemus; and sisters, Louise, Christine and Erma.
Willie received his education in the Fairmount Heights Public School system. He joined the U.S. Army where he served for a few years and later began his career with Mail Express. After being employed with the postal service for several years, Willie decided to follow his dream and became a MASTER carpenter and bricklayer with B.F. Saul for 20 years until he was offered the Head Carpenter position at the Kennedy Warren Apartments in NW Washington, DC for over 15 years until his retirement. He also formed his own company “Logan’s Carpenter and Bricklaying Services” where his magical hands went to work and created wonders for his clients, building decks, cement or brick lanais, brick bars, brick grill pits, car ports, all using his creative genius, leaving his clients marveled by his work.
Willie professed his faith in Jesus Christ at an early age and joined Sylvan Vista Baptist Church. He later joined the Logan family Church, First Baptist Church of Fairmount Heights for several years. He later joined God's Universal Kingdom Christian Church where he was Baptised by the Late Bishop Fernette Saint Nichols.
Willie leaves to mourn his wife of 28 years, Yolanda (“Jingo”); sons, Juan (Shawn “Doonie”) Logan and Keith Gutrich (Miranda); daughters, Sabrina Carter (Russell) and Cynthia Gutrich; brother, Maurice (Pat) Logan; 18 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, family and friends, including two special lifelong buddies, Pearl Heyward and Robert (“Fluff”) Merritt.
