Ethel Marie Weyers

     Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday , August 1, 2013 at Mount Calvary Lutheran church in Bayard with Reverend George Naylor officiating.  Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.  Friends may call at the Bayard Memorial Chapel Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

    Memorials may be made to Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Bayard, Nebraska.

     Ethel was born September 26, 1924 to Oscar and Donna (McBeth) Smith in Burwell, Nebraska.  She married Carl Weyers August 13, 1946 in Yuma, AZ and the couple made their home in California. Upon Carl's retirement they moved to Western Nebraska.

     Ethel was a member of LWML and the Lutheran Church.  She enjoyed needlework, making quilts, cross stitch and gardening.

     She is survived by her sons, Russell (Mary Jane) Weyers of North Platte, NE, and David Weyers of Gering, NE; grandchildren Nickolas (Anna) Weyers of Wichita, KS and Carl (Ashley) Weyers of Omaha, NE; great-granddaughter, Riley; niece, Janell (Jerry) Hickmand of Loup City, NE and niece Virginia Ferris of South Sioux City, Ne,  and nephew Ira Kinney and wife Eieline Kinney of Mitchell, South Dakota and numerous great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.

     Preceding her in death is her husband, Carl; infant daughter, Lois Joy; her parents and five sisters.
