Kenneth R Pledger, 67, entered eternal glory on Sunday, April 8th at the Denver Hospice Center. At his request, cremation has taken place. A private family gathering will take place at a later date in the Rocky Mountain Nat'l Park in Estes Park, Colorado where he loved to spend time in the wide open spaces with just his painting easel and brushes.
Ken was an avid outdoorsman who loved walking the fields with his black labs pheasant hunting and calling and decoying geese. He spent countless hours on several golf courses working as course superintendents and polishing his game of golf. He loved to watch the Masters and always dreamed of going and walking the course. Ken's artistic talent won him many awards with the Pastel Society of America and the International Association of Pastel Society and featured many local clientele as his subjects. During college football season, he was well known for his loyalty in supporting his Ohio State Buckeyes even in Husker territory.
Ken is survived by his wife Robyn (Vassos) Pledger; step-daughters Cami and Cassie Wegelin, both of Gering; his mother Betty Pledger of Winter Haven, FL; parents-in-law James and Marilyn Vassos; sisters-in-law Jammie (Dick) Hadden of Bridgeport and Trayce (Rick) Nenow of Jamestown, ND; nieces and nephews, close cousins, Cindy, Cami and Craig and special friend Ken Smith of Colorado.
Ken was preceded in death by his father.
