I am sorry to hear of Lou's passing and grateful to have known him. I think of his generous kindness to his students and his dedication to educating them. And, of course, his sense of humor: Prior to the first big freshman chem exam, I inquired in class if he wanted us to take the test in pencil or pen, which had mattered in high school. He deadpanned: "I don't care if you take it in blood." [pause] "And some of you probably will."

My sincere condolences to Lou's family.

We will hold your stories and lessons in our hearts forever.   The boys miss your smile and how you always kept the family first.   Please pray for us and know we are always thinking of you.

Dr. Campisi was the most caring professor I ever had at Iona or any college. I fondly recall having a solo "tutorial" class with him (classes weren't always canceled just because there was one person in the class!) in which his personal attention to my success was so rewarding to have, and most importantly, I saw the joy and satisfaction he expressed when I would finally "get it" (whatever he was teaching). Only a warm and humane man such as Lou Campisi could have been that way. I am also so grateful for the welcoming comradeship and support he gave to my wife when she became a fellow chemistry professor at Iona. There's too much too say and too much to miss about him. Mrs. Campisi and all the family, thank you for taking care of him, and may God's strength be with you.

Dr. Campisi was a the true definition of an educator. He was by far one of my favorite professors, one who i strive to become more like everyday. He was a kind and warm hearted individual, one students could always count on. I will remember my time spent talking chemistry in his office and lab. God speed, rest in peace, you will be sorely missed Lou.

Rich and I just got back into town to learn of Mr. Campisi's passing. I just knew him to say hello to him and his wife and watched his kids growup around the block. He was a beautiful man with a beautiful family - GOD BLESS !!!
