Yolanda “Lee” (DiTocco) Ambriano, born on February 12, 1925 in the Bronx, New York, passed away peacefully at age 93 on November 9, 2018. Lee was the beloved wife of the late Frank L. Ambriano. She was the loving mother of Anthony (Patricia) and Susan Cardosa (Michael). She was the adored Nanny of Michael Cardosa (Clare Leonard), Jennifer Brandon (Joseph), Heather Howley (Daniel), Jonathan Ambriano (Heather), and Peter Sullivan. Cherished great-grandmother of Grayson, Regina, Carly, Elinor, Greta, and Dean. Aunt and great-aunt to many nieces and nephews. Lee's family extends its thanks to her dear friend, Comfort Amoah, whose extraordinary kindness and care during the past years is truly appreciated. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Mike and Tex; and her sisters, Lucille, Mary, and Ida. Lee was a secretary at the N.Y. Province of the Society of Jesus from 1966 until 2003, and thereafter volunteered at Calvary Hospital. She was an accomplished cook and liked nothing more than cooking for her family and friends; no one could cook more food, for more people, in a smaller space than she. She enjoyed her travels to Italy, England, and Alaska; the Yankees; classic movies; playing the nickel slots; and listening to Tony Bennett and Frank Sinatra. Friends and family are welcome to attend the visitation on Monday, November 12 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at John Dormi & Sons, 1121 Morris Park Ave, Bronx, NY. The funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 13, 2018, at St. Clare's Church, 1918 Paulding Ave., Bronx, NY.
