

Anton J. “Tony” Faupl, age 98, of Milwaukee, WI, passed away on January 17, 2014. Tony was born in Milwaukee on November 19, 1915. He worked for the Milwaukee Recreation Department for 39 years, the last 9 years as the 5th Director of Municipal Athletics. He enjoyed biking, swimming, tennis, golf, gardening and especially coaching 3 of his daughters to the CYO softball championship and 2 daughters to the 1972 and 1981 State WISAA softball championships for Divine Savior-Holy Angels. He also provided support for his sons in basketball and baseball.
Tony is survived by his spouse Ruth Danby and his children, Mary G Hanson, Christine (Tom) Jones, Marie (Joe) Pellegrino, Anton Jr. (Kathy), James, Grace (Brian) Foley and stepchildren, Valerie Danby, Pamela (Pamela Ninham) Danby, Nan (Doyle) Henke, David (Leann) Danby, Mary (John) Eisenbeis, Lauren (Rick) Heller, and Michelle (Mark) Engman, step brother in law Joe Stilletti, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and other family and friends. Tony is preceded in death by his first wife Grace Cosentino-Faupl, and brothers, Adam, John and Joe.
Visitation will be held from 9 – 11AM on Tuesday, January 21, at San Camillo Chapel, 10200 W. Blue Mound Rd., Wauwatosa, with a Funeral Mass at 11AM. Private Burial Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to San Camillo. The family of Anton J. Faupl wishes to thank the wonderful staff at San Camillo including home health care, memory care and hospice services personnel for all their care and support.
