

Arthur Herbert Browne Sr., a retired paralegal died on June 14, 2012 at age 83. He was born in Milwaukee, WI on March 4, 1929. He attended St. Benedict the Moor Mission School and Roosevelt Jr. High School in Milwaukee. He attended Waukesha Industrial School for Boys. Mr. Browne graduated from the College of Lake County, Grayslake, IL on December 9, 1993. Mr. Browne survived his mother Helen who passed October 31, 1949. He survived his brother Anthony Joseph, who passed May 27, 1955. Mr. Browne married his first wife Dehetta McElwee on July 16, 1948. Three children survived Mr. Browne from his first marriage, Brenda (nee Browne) Ward, Arthur and Richard. There are six grandchildren, Kanini (Nolan) Brooks, Kanika (Fidel) Ward, Kimani Ward, Timothy Browne, Rashida Browne, and four great grandchildren Kaia and Jalen Brooks reside in Arlington, TX, Desiree Ward and Kali Mass Gree who reside in Milwaukee. On December 2nd, 1969, he married Alyce Joyce Neff at Trinity A.M.E. Church in Waukegan, IL. They had two children, Anthony and Theodore. There are two grandchildren, Trey living in Atlanta, GA and Theodore Jr. residing in Iowa City, IA. Mr. Browne was discharged from the U.S. Army June 1, 1948. As a paralegal he provided pro bono services for incarcerated men to assist them in protecting their rights. Visitation will be Friday, June 22, 10-11 am at the Funeral Home with a Memorial Service at 11 am.
