Carla Johnson-Shackelford

Carla Johnson-Shackelford, born August 1, 1955, was reunited with her parents, Linfred and Bernice Johnson; her brother, Brian; her husband, Michael Shackelford; and her daughter, Melissa Green on June 18, 2026. She passed peacefully, surrounded by her loving family in the comfort of her home.

Carla was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Known for her strong work ethic and her heart of gold, she lived by the simple but powerful motto: Everyone should just get along.

Her greatest joy came from spending time with family—gathering together, enjoying one another’s company, and sharing good food. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Carla is survived by her daughter Darla (Joshua); her son Paul (Michelle); her adopted daughter Lesley (Tony); and her son in law Quincy. She leaves behind her devoted granddaughter Ashley, three additional grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.

She is also survived by her loving Auntie Judy; her beloved sister Belinda; and her brothers Ronnie, Gregg (Julie), Scott, Glenn (Debbie), Gary (Linda), Cliff (Barb), Heath (Dana), and Gene (Karen). Carla had a cherished extended family, including the Shackelford family—daughter in law of the late Lenord and Regina Shackelford, and sister in law to Tom (Pat), John (Sue), and the late Jimmy (Sue)—along with countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Carla’s love, kindness, and warm spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched. Her services will be held at Wisconsin Memorial Park starting at 1pm in the Chapel of the Chimes. Address 13235 W. Capitol Dr. Brookfield, WI, 53005.
