She is survived by her sister Doris Pitt and half-brother Pat Houston. She is preceded in death by her parents Harry and Georgene Tingue, and by her sister Polly Crandall, brothers Will Tingue and James Tingue, and half-brother Pete Houston. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Grace was born in Alabama. She came to Wisconsin upon graduation from high school to help her sister’s family with a newborn and stayed. She eventually found employment with Mobil Oil and was later transferred to Dallas, Texas. She retired from Mobil in 1994 after almost 26 years. She took up a new position at Texas A&M AgriLife in 1995 and retired from there in 2008. She returned to Wisconsin in 2016 to be closer to family.
Grace loved her horses and other animals. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with friends and family. She would share stories of people, places, and events, sometimes with exaggerations or fantasy, leaving the listener wondering what was true, what was due to dementia, and what was just dreamed up. She liked to watch westerns and football on TV. She was a Cowboy’s fan (and Packer fan if they weren’t playing the Cowboys).
A celebration of life and committal service was held for her on June 19, 2026 at Wisconsin Memorial Park. The service was attended by relatives in the area.
