Born on October 8, 1942, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Jim was the son of the late Clarence and Lorraine Hug Kurth. A hardworking and dedicated man, he spent his career as a machinist with Allen-Bradley in Milwaukee, where his father and grandfather also retired. After 19 years with Allen Bradley, he became co-owner of Kurth’s Lakeside Chalet restaurant on Okauchee Lake, Wisconsin. Later after relocating to Coral Springs, Florida, he managed several pizza restaurants.
Jim was a devoted family man whose greatest pride came from the relationships he shared with those he loved. Known for his quick wit and sense of humor, he had a special ability to bring smiles to those around him. Whether through a clever remark, a funny story, or simply his presence, Jim left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
A member of the Fraternal Order of Masons, Jim appreciated the values of friendship, integrity, and fellowship. Outside of work and family life, he pursued his lifelong passion for automobiles, particularly Corvettes. Over the years, he enjoyed owning and collecting several of these iconic sports cars, but his favorite was always his beloved 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray. Few things brought him as much joy as admiring a well-crafted automobile and sharing that enthusiasm with others.
Jim also loved music and found great enjoyment in the timeless sounds of Elvis Presley, The Beach Boys, and Bruce Springsteen. Their songs provided the soundtrack to countless happy moments throughout his life.
Jim is survived by his loving daughters, Kimberly Hannah of Winchester, Virginia and Kelly Kurth and her spouse, Whitney Connor of Oakwood, Georgia; his sister, Karen Gelet of Waukesha, Wisconsin; and his cherished grandsons, Christopher Hannah of Winchester and Nicolas Hannah of Alexandria, VA who brought him immense pride and happiness.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Vicki Kurth, and his wife of 13 years, Minnette Kurth.
Jim's legacy lives on in the love of his family, the memories he created, and the lasting impression he made on everyone who knew him. He will be remembered for his humor, kindness, hard work, and devotion to family, as well as his love of classic rock and the thrill of a Corvette on the open road.
