Karen was born on October 29, 1955, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to the late Kenneth C. H. Bohn and Beverly A. Bohn.
Throughout her life, Karen was an entrepreneur at heart. She ran several businesses—from selling Tupperware, jewelry, and Avon, to owning a daycare and a craft store, Karen’s Gift Nook. Her creativity shone through her love of crafting, and in recent years she found joy in playing bingo. Music and dancing, however, were her lifelong passions; if there was a tune playing, Karen was dancing. Even during her final hospital stay, she found ways to keep moving her feet and shoulders to the rhythm of life.
Karen was deeply caring and selfless, always putting others before herself. She opened her home, shared what she had, and gave generously of her time and resources to help those around her. Known for her humor, she often said off-the-wall things that brought smiles and laughter to her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Terrence M. Dibb, and her parents, Kenneth C. H. Bohn and Beverly A. Bohn.
Karen is survived by her children, April Dawn Vanderwege (Benjamin) and Randall Dustin (Dusty) Barber (Jennifer); her cherished grandchildren, Desiree Barber (Patrick Busse), Destany McDaniel (Damyon Cobb), Zachary McDaniel (Annabelle Vanark), and Ava Barber; and her adored great-grandchildren, Aria, Aleah, and Avery Busse, Noah Cobb, and Ryder McDaniel. She is also survived by her siblings, Kenneth W. Bohn, Kurt Bohn, and Kathleen Watson, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
Her family takes comfort in knowing she left this world as she lived in it—with love, laughter, and dancing in her heart.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, October 18, in the Chapel of the Chimes at Wisconsin Memorial Park, 13235 W. Capitol Drive, Brookfield. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services at 2:00 p.m.
